Hi everyone! Welcome to today’s session. Happy Head Topical is a customizable product, which means we tailor it for you based on your medical history, hair loss history, allergies, and sensitivities. If you have any sensitivities, we’ll adjust the formula and send you a new bottle.
Let’s start with how to apply the topical product. Most of you will be using the customizable Happy Head formula, and the key is to minimize side effects.
- Start with a clean scalp – no need to wash your hair right before, but avoid applying to hair with heavy product buildup.
- Dosage – Our bottles come with a calibrated pipette. You’ll take it out and draw up 0.5 mL, applying it to one side of your scalp, then another 0.5 mL for the other side. Rub it in well. This is equivalent to two pumps totaling 1 mL.
Frequency:
- Start with a once-a-day application for the first week to let your body adjust.
- Then increase to twice a day.
Special note for women: The women’s formula has 6% minoxidil vs. 8% in the men’s formula. This reduces the risk of unwanted facial hair while still providing prescription-strength treatment.
To avoid getting the product on your face, apply it about three inches behind the frontal hairline.
Liposomal Formula
The liposomal formula doesn’t come with a pipette. It’s a pump—two pumps total, twice a day. There’s no calibration needed.
People often ask why we use liposomal formulas. Liposomal delivery reduces how much of the medication is absorbed into your body, decreasing potential side effects.
Dermarolling
We’ve covered this before, but let’s recap. Dermarolling:
- Increases blood flow
- Creates tiny holes in your scalp to help the topical absorb better
We recommend using a 0.25 mm dermaroller—no need for deeper ones. Roll two to four times a week, ideally after applying your topical.
Tips:
- Be gentle; no bleeding!
- Clean your dermaroller with an alcohol spray (available on Amazon) and replace it every month to avoid infections.
Oral Medications
Oral options are for people who want a simpler routine. We offer oral minoxidil, finasteride, dutasteride, and the Super Capsule, which combines minoxidil, finasteride, and vitamin D.
The key is consistency. Think of it like taking a cholesterol pill—you need to take it daily to see real results.
Starting oral minoxidil?
- Many people start by cutting the 2.5 mg tablet in half for the first two weeks.
- Some start with a quarter tablet, then half, then a full tablet.
- Monitor your blood pressure at home if you’re concerned.
The Super Capsule makes it even easier—just one pill a day.
Supplements
Our Happy Head supplements contain vitamin D, collagen, keratin, probiotics, and more. They’re similar to popular hair supplements on the market but with even more of the good stuff.
- Dose: Four capsules a day (two in the morning, two at night).
- These work well alongside the Super Capsule or topical treatments.
Giveaway & Questions
We had a giveaway during the session—congratulations to the first person to answer how often to apply the topical (twice a day)!
Now, let’s cover some of your questions:
✅ Using Hair Dye?
Darker, ammonia-free dyes are fine. Lighter dyes can damage hair.
✅ Hydrocortisone in the Formula?
It’s a small amount to minimize irritation from minoxidil. If you prefer to skip it, let us know—we can customize the formula.
✅ Can hair regrow in bald areas?
Products help thinning hair, not fully bald areas.
✅ Starting with oral or topical?
Start with topical for 3–4 weeks, then add oral to avoid overwhelming your body.
✅ Creatine & Whey Protein?
These can raise DHT and contribute to hair miniaturization. We usually advise against them.
✅ PRP Injections?
I’m a big fan if done properly—draw a large enough blood volume (60–80 mL) for best results.
✅ Twice-a-Day Application?
Yes—twice a day is key for best results.
✅ Shedding:
Shedding in the first 2–3 months is normal. Keep taking photos to track progress. If shedding continues past three months, reach out to us.
✅ Scalp dryness?
Try a scalp serum (like Gemma Serum on Amazon) or a leave-in conditioner.
✅ Wider part?
If your part is wider but not bald, you’re still a candidate. The topical can help!
